Starch gums are based on wheat, potato and maize starches that are gelatinized at high temperature and pressure during the manufacturing process.By forming a coating around each gum anti-sticking agents provide a reliable protection against sticking and moisture.
Jellies mainly consist of gelatine plus sugar, glucose and flavourings along with acidifiers and colours. This combination of ingredients means that jellies are very sticky.Oiling jellies with an anti-sticking agent prevents them from sticking together or to the packaging, whilst also giving them a beautiful shine.
Often referred to as "wine gum oils", Capol® anti-sticking agents are based on a suspension of carnauba wax, beeswax or a mix of the two in vegetable oil. They provide excellent anti-sticking properties and resistance to oxidation.
Our range of anti-sticking agents have been developed for use on deposited gums based on gelatine, pectin, starch, and similar such as in animal-shaped jellies, wine gums and gum arabic pastilles.
Some of our products are available in modified versions to give a burst of flavour when a bag of the finished product is opened.
Capol® anti-sticking agents are applied at room temperature, preferably using a dosing pump, and are suitable for processing in conventional oiling drums or coating pans.
